Royalton, Punta Cana
Spring Break 2014
We booked our Spring Break at The all-inclusive Resort, The Royalton, Punta Cana....a newly rebuilt, re-furbished, and re-created 5 star resort. We were not disappointed. Our arrival and departure at the quaint thatched airport was smooth and uneventful. (note you pay $10 per person upon arriving). Our cab ride for all 4 of us was $40 one way but quick and direct without stopping at additional resorts. We arrived at the resort about 1:30 and were immediately "Oohing and Ahhing".Upon being greeted with cool cloths and fancy drinks we were led to the "Diamond Club" for check in. The diamond club is an optional upgrade that includes access to the Diamond Club with games, and special goodies, A butler at your disposal "Mr. Theodore" was ours (room service, stocked bar etc..), Priority reservations at the inclusive restaurants, Top-Shelf Liquor, Private section of the beach, Private Beach Bar with much better drinks, and Beach Bed Cabanas. We were upgraded for free! Normally this would be an additional $40 a day per person add on. It was fun and much appreciated.
Our room was a Luxury Swim-Out Ocean View. We were steps from the beach. Gorgeous Gorgeous room. The Beach was clean and the water clear...with fun waves. The Dominican Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We brought a lot of $1 bills and used these for tips for the staff, which was much appreciated.
There was nightly entertainment, non-motorized water sports, a beautiful spa, amazing pools, a casino, night club, sports bar etc... Our resort was a sister property of the Memories Splash resort, which we also had access to. We went there for a day at their water park complete with slides and wave pool. For our dinners, we opted for the Greek Opa restaurant, The Hibachi Grill one night, A seafood restaurant another, and a yummy Steak restaurant...for lunch we did the buffets or the pool side burger bar. The buffets were amazing and the food good. We opted for this resort because it was a smaller resort vs. taking shuttles etc...
We would definitely return to this resort and location again. None of us had any complaints. So so beautiful!
